LIGHT IN THE HOLY BIBLE:
Then Moses requested, "Please, let me see the DAZZLING LIGHT OF YOUR PRESENCE".
19. The Lord answered, "I will make ALL MY SPLENDOUR pass before you and in your presence I will pronounce my sacred name. I am the Lord, and I show compassion and pity on those I choose.
22. When the DAZZLING LIGHT OF MY PRESENCE passes by, I will put you in an opening in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by.
The Church maintains the same truth by presenting the image of the Christ with a DIVINE AURA AROUND THE HEART AND THE HEAD OF JESUS CHRIST in all the pictures available now.
16. As soon as Jesus was baptized, he came up out of the water. Then heaven was opened to him, and he saw THE SPIRIT OF GOD COMING DOWN LIKE A DOVE AND ALIGHTING ON HIM.
3. As Saul was coming near the city of Damascus, suddenly a light from the sky flashed round him.
2.When the day of Pentecost came, all the believers were gathered together in one place. Suddenly there was a noise from the sky, which sounded like a STRONG WIND BLOWING, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3. Then they saw what looked like TONGUES OF FIRE, WHICH SPREAD OUT AND TOUCHED each person there. 4. They were all filled with the HOLY SPIRIT and began to talk in other languages, as the Spirit enabled them to speak.
15 "When the Lord spoke to you from the fire on Mount Sinai, you did not see any form. For your own good, then make certain that you do not sin by making for yourselves an idol in any form at all - whether man or woman, animal or bird, reptile or fish. Do not be tempted to worship and serve what you see in the sky - the sun, the moon, and the stars. The Lord your God has given these to all other peoples for them to worship. But you are the people he rescued from Egypt, that blazing furnace. He brought you out to make you his own people, as you are today. Because of you the Lord your God was angry with me and solemnly declared that I would not cross the River Jordan to enter the fertile land, which he is giving you. I will die in this land and never cross the river, but you are about to go across and occupy that fertile land. Be certain that you do not forget the covenant that the Lord your God made with you. Obey his command not to make yourselves any kind of idol, because the LORD YOUR GOD IS LIKE A FLAMING FIRE; he tolerates no rivals".
"Moses called together all the people of Israel and said to them, "People of Israel, listen to all the laws that I am giving you today. Learn them and be sure that you obey them. At Mount Sinai the Lord our God made a covenant, not only with our fathers, but with all of us, who are living today. There on the mountain the Lord spoke to you face-to-face from the fire. I stood between you and the Lord at that time to tell you what he said, because you were afraid of the fire and would not go up the mountain".
The Self is the flame, fire, illumination, etc. and it is experienceable through an intensive effort. The Self is the inner Ruler and it identifies the entire creation, gross and subtle and pervades them in their entirety as a mass of consciousness. The Self is declared to be the inner Controller or in the religious literature as the Lord. It would therefore immediately appear that there is other entity over and above the Lord, which is subjected to control. In that case, the Self becomes the subject, who controls and the entire aggregate of this manifested universe becomes the object controlled. This ambiguity is clear by the fact, the same Self is called, at a lower stage as the Lord, Iswara or Allah, etc. He is the knower of everything, controller of everything, seer of everything, but none can know Him, none can control Him, etc. There is no second entity other than the Self. Just as the lengthwise and crosswise threads alone constitute the cloth, or as different drops of water are non different from the ocean, like wise this Self, whose nature has been set forth as mentioned above, is the internal Ruler, the inner Controller and the immortal Self. Aught else than Him, if presumed, is perishable and not eternal and that which is eternal is imperishable. Since this Self is imperishable, it is ever existing. It is the infinite Existence, which cannot allow the existence of anything other to it. Because there cannot be two eternities, the assumption of something real and eternal other than the Self is impossible; therefore, the Lord is none other than the Self.
Again Moses warns against Idolatory in the simple language, infact it is justifiable. The formless is the Self; it is immeasurable; it cannot be measured by the form and the word (sound- sabda); it is the subtlest, any word used cannot present the Self.
One can say, with certitude, we are living in the matter (deha). The Self is formless and the matter is formful. The spirit is formless and the substance is formful. All the infinite forms available in the universe to our perception are identifiable with the matter. The statement, therefore, advises the humanity that the formful worship is with in the matter (limiting adjuncts); in the sense the person fails to approach the Lord. In this connection, it is pertinent to refer to the Upanishads for better clarity. Liberation is attainable only by those, who are desirous of the Self and who have the knowledge of the Self. The path of knowledge leading to liberation is very difficult to cross and very hard to tread. It is far-reaching and extensive for the reason it is related to the infinite Truth. On that path, one records the experiences in the various colours as white, blue, yellow, green and red indicating the luminous bright path and whoever is the doer of good and whoever identifies with the Light goes by that path. This is the path of illumination leading to the Supreme Light or the Fire or the Tongues of Fire as mentioned in the Bible. However man cannot straight away worship or meditate the Formless. He should tread through the matter, the hardest; the path to Heaven is truly through the Hell; the aspirant should therefore worship the formful deity, in the best way in the mind for a short time and finally in the sacred cavity of the heart till such time the mind, in its most natural state merges in the Formless.
Again, in his first letter, St. John says that "God is Light";
5. Now the message that we have heard from his son and announce is this: "God is light", and there is no darkness at all in him.
6. If, then, we say that we have fellowship with him, yet at the same time live in the darkness, we are lying both in our words and in our actions.
7. "But if we live in the light - just as he is in the light - then we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from every sin".
